Innovation camp for creative people
KAT Creative Economy Workshops strengthen innovation competence
The Creative Industries Workshop of the Creative Industries Austria (KAT for short) is a free one-day innovation camp where creative companies or self-employed people in the creative industries - from fields such as design, fashion, architecture, multimedia, software & games, video & film or advertising - and other companies based in Austria can work together on their entrepreneurial competence and the further development of their business model.
Creative ideas and innovation in the group
With the support of experts for cooperative collaboration and the use of the latest innovation methods, professional know-how, knowledge and ideas are shared in a creative setting to jointly develop innovative approaches and interdisciplinary competencies. This should result in innovative products, services and business models. This year, 60 creative people from all over Austria have already tested the innovation methods "Design Thinking" and "LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY®". At the end of September, 30 creative entrepreneurs in Tyrol will have the opportunity to become familiar with the "Effectuation" technique.
Creative Industries Workshop promotes innovation know-how
"According to the Seventh Austrian Creative Industries Report, creative companies offer high-quality innovations (87% rely on new products, processes or technologies). In order for creative people to maintain this status, they have to constantly expand their innovation competence," notes Gerin Trautenberger, Chairman of KAT. "Our innovation methods and principles can be applied in both the digital and the physical world". These competencies include both the role of the innovation seeker (e.g. for their own entrepreneurial development) and that of the solution provider (e.g. by developing solution ideas and concepts for customers).
Next creative industries workshop on 26 September 2018
The next Creative Industries Workshop "With Effectuation to an innovative edge" will bring interested creative companies to Tyrol. "Business ideas and projects often fail because exact predictions and planning are not possible. With Effectuation - the entrepreneurial method of thinking and decision-making in uncertainty - vague ideas can be developed further and put into practice," explains Effectuation expert Gabriele Adelsberger, who will show participants concrete tools and instructions with which to set a professional course in the early stages of innovation. This creative economy workshop is offered in cooperation with the Tyrolean Chamber of Commerce. All information and facts for registration can be found on the website of Kreativwirtschaft Austria.
The Creative Industries Workshop is an implementation measure of the Creative Industries Strategy of the Federal Ministry for Digitalisation and Business Location (BMDW) and is 100% funded for participants by KAT, WKÖ, BMDW and the partner organisations in the federal states.
