Creative industries profit from tax reform
From 1 January 2020 relief will come into force
We can report a success - the first stage of the tax reform has been decided! The WKÖ was able to achieve that measures with bureaucratic and tax relief for companies are implemented before the National Council elections. WKÖ President Harald Mahrer: "The first stage of the tax reform brings a double relief for our small businesses - on the one hand bureaucratic and on the other hand financial. At least 50,000 tax returns no longer have to be filed. Also the easier deductibility of small purchases of up to 800 Euros such as smartphones or printers relieves the domestic businesses of pointless bureaucracy". These are the concrete measures that will come into force on 1 January 2020:
Less bureaucracy:
- Increase of the small business limit: exemption from VAT returns for annual turnover of up to 35,000 euros
- Simpler flat-rate taxation: income tax return, goods receipt book and asset file are practically eliminated for annual sales of up to 35,000 euros
- Purchases of up to 800 euros are easier to sell (low-value assets, GWG)
Reduction of the health insurance contribution
- This is reducedby 0.85 percentage pointsfor all self-employed persons.
