Gerin Trautenberger was re-elected as chairman of Kreativwirtschaft Austria (KAT) for the next functional period on September 28, 2022. He will be assisted by vice-chairmen Gertraud Leimüller, founder and managing partner of winnovation consulting as well as of the start-up leiwand AI, and Reanne Leuning, who is responsible for the internationalization programs of the Austrian creative industries at AUSSENWIRTSCHAFT AUSTRIA. Trautenberger has already been in the chair of KAT since 2009, first as vice-chair, since 2013 as chair.
The designer and owner of Microgiants Design & Research intends to devote himself intensively to communicating the transformational and innovative power of the creative industries to companies and to building up the European innovation network EIT Culture & Creativity over the next three years. To this end, KAT will assume the host function for the establishment of a co-location center at the Vienna location. "It is impossible to imagine the Austrian innovation system without the creative industries. It acts as a catalyst and stimulus for innovation in all sectors. This has been built up over many years in terms of economic policy and laid down in the 'Creative Industries Strategy for Austria' of the Federal Ministry of Labor and Economic Affairs. As Chairman of Creative Industries Austria, I want to continue to build on this foundation in the coming years," says Gerin Trautenberger.
As a working group within the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKÖ), KAT represents the interests of the creative industries in Austria and vis-à-vis the European Union and promotes the visibility of creative industry-based services.
