Plant Oracle - A potted plant as "karma coach
A sensitive plant that recognizes through touch what people can volunteer for. There is no hocus-pocus behind this idea, but rather a lot of innovation, coupled with creativity and technical know-how. Competencies that can be learned or professionalized in the Creative Economy Coaching C hoch 3. "Plant Oracle" started as a C hoch 3 cooperation project and established itself as a commercial project together with the agency Ambient Art in spring 2018. The success of the sentient plant was not long in coming and even resulted in a gold award at the Salzburg State Prize for Marketing in 2018. A successful C to the power of 3 story as proof that cooperation creates strong innovations.

Birth of the sentient plant
It all began in 2014 at the creative economy coaching C hoch 3 in Salzburg, when game developer Robert Praxmarer, film director Christine Fekesa, graphic designer and illustrator Angelika Jessner and consultant Carina Kutil met. "Inspire a team with a good idea" was the assignment at the start of the coaching session. Robert Praxmarer remembers: "I presented a talking plant that reacts angrily when touched. I was inspired by Monty Python and the Muppet Show, as well as the latest results of the Disney Research Lab. Christine, Angelika and Carina found it so funny that we quickly became a team. Our mission: To give a plant, soul and voice. The project name: Angry Bushes.
From planning to implementation
The tasks within the team were quickly agreed upon: Robert Praxmarer developed the technology behind the plant, Christine Fekesa was responsible for the concept and direction, Angelika Jessner took care of the graphic design and Carina Kutil the energetics of the plant. The development of the first prototype took two weeks and with that the final presentation was designed in creative economy coaching. The project was then implemented in just one month. "The cooperation was inspiring. Due to our different creative professions we all had different ideas and perspectives. We learned to make compromises. This greatly enriched both the content of the project implementation and our joint final presentation," says Angelika Jessner.
Entrepreneurial expertise through creative industry coaching
Apart from many different innovation methods and tips on financing, price calculation and taxes, the team around "Angry Bushes" also received legal expertise from the C hoch 3 trainers in the course of the creative industry coaching. For example, the recommendation for the written regulation of the cooperation by means of a contract. A decision that soon proved to be absolutely right for the team. Robert Praxmarer: "Since digital business in particular is very fast-moving and entrepreneurial maturity and leadership in start-ups often fall by the wayside, I am very grateful to have gone through an entrepreneurial fast-moving process with creative industry coaching," says Praxmarer happily. "In the creative industry coaching sessions I was able to develop as a leader and entrepreneur and to exchange views with the different perspectives of the other participants," he adds. Christine Fekesa agrees: "What is really valuable about creative industry coaching is the creative exchange, experiencing, understanding and working with creative people from completely different areas of the creative industry. These insights are both inspiring and revealing.

Angry Bush becomes Plant Oracle
Another competence conveyed in creative industry coaching is cooperation with other companies. Soon after the coaching session, Praxmarer was able to test the theory in practice - when the Viennese advertising agency Ambient Art was looking for a special project for the City of Vienna to promote the topic "Voluntary for Vienna". Based on the technology developed in the C hoch 3 project "Angry Bushes", Robert Praxmarer and his company Polycular, in cooperation with Ambient Art, developed the concept for a potted plant as a "Karma Coach". The plant oracle "Plant Oracle" analyses the stroking of a plant, composes music and recommends a volunteer activity tailored to the person based on the profile created in this way. In spring 2018, hundreds of interested passers-by on Mariahilferstrasse in the context of the "Volunteer for Vienna" campaign were advised by the potted plant on how to improve their karma and were enthusiastic about it. This clearly calls for continuation.

Digital work is possible everywhere. In the city and in the country. What is missing, especially in rural areas, is exchange. One reason why Herwig Zöttl and Nikola Weiser translated coworking into Tyrolean. This is how Raum13 was created in the course of the Creative Industries Coaching Tyrol: a flexible workplace, an inspiring meeting place for creative people and - in the sense of coworking - recently a destination for digital nomads.
