The economic effects of the Corona crisis are endangering the existence of small businesses in particular. The Republic of Austria is reacting quickly and is setting up a hardship fund for one-person enterprises (EPU), micro-enterprises, the newly self-employed, freelancers and non-profit organisations, which will be endowed with 1 billion euros. The aim of the hardship fund is to help the affected businesses and organisations through the crisis.
The WKÖ handles this funding on behalf of the federal government without charging any costs and will do everything in its power to ensure that funding applicants receive support services quickly and unbureaucratically. The corresponding funding guidelines are currently being developed together with the Vice Chancellery, the Ministry of Economics and the Ministry of Finance.

Anyone who is directly or indirectly affected by the coronavirus through illness and quarantine, or who is expecting massive business losses and is therefore experiencing payment difficulties, will be supported by the SVS. Those affected should contact the SVS directly and without complications. If necessary, the SVS offers all SVS insured persons the following options: Deferral of contributions Payment of contributions in instalments Reduction of the provisional contribution base Total or partial leniency of interest on late payments Applications for deferral and payment by instalments can be submitted informally in writing by e-mail. Together with the Federal Ministry of Finance, the Austrian Kontrollbank is responding to the Covid 19 effects and providing companies with additional credit funds amounting to 2 billion euros. In total, the credit line comprises two billion euros. The revolving loans are primarily intended to secure the exporters' locations and continue their operations. The financing is initially limited to two years with the possibility of extending it afterwards. The costs are based on Kontrollbank's refinancing framework (KRR), with a slightly increased bill guarantee fee in line with the risk. In addition to an existing export activity, a precondition for using this type of working capital loan is proof that the company was economically sound until the start of the Covid 19 effects in Austria. The Federal Government is prepared to assume guarantees for 50 to 70 percent of these loans, whereby the processing is carried out using the existing structures. Here you will find details.
