Tradition in new splendor: How Martin Dvorak & Florian Schwab bring the appearance of the Wiener Schweizerhaus into the present day
Local advertising and the use of advertising space offer companies numerous advantages when it comes to marketing products and services to potential customers. In this month's story of the month, we report on The Schweizerhaus in Vienna's Prater is a true icon of the Austrian restaurant scene. With the help of creative minds Martin Dvorak and Florian Schwab, it has undergone an extensive makeover and now shines in a new, fresh and contemporary splendor without losing its "Viennese charm".
For over a century, this traditional inn has been attracting Viennese and visitors from all over the world who want to indulge in culinary delights in a cozy atmosphere. From the Stelze to the Krügerl and the legendary raw slices - everyone in the capital has treated themselves to a culinary break from the stomach-churning rollercoasters. As tried and tested as the Schweizerhaus is, it was time to combine tradition with modernity. The result is a uniform and charming appearance that connects new generations with the brand.
Dvorak meets Schwab
In the world of design and communication, there is a creative duo dedicated to the art of bringing brands to life. Martin Dvorak, the art director, and Florian Schwab, the copywriter, together form the Dvorak trifft Schwab team. Their expertise includes conception, strategy, brand design, packaging design, screen design, storytelling and advertising, all with the aim of giving a brand an unmistakable identity. The secret of her success lies not only in aesthetic design, but rather in creating a brand personality that appeals to the viewer and evokes an emotional response. Her work is characterized by lively and authentic stories, with the aim of inspiring people and entertaining and surprising them with her work.
Martin and Florian are not only experts in their field, but also connoisseurs and aesthetes who enjoy the finer things in life. Their passion for design is reflected in every one of their projects. They want to enrich the world of communication and entertain people - and they have a lot of fun doing it. This is particularly evident in their implementation for the re-branding of the popular Schweizerhaus.
New shine for the Schweizerhaus
Martin Dvorak and Florian Schwab have been breathing new life into brands for more than 10 years. Many of these major brands originate from the food and gastronomy scene (including Joseph Brot, Figlmüller & Egger Getränke), in keeping with the creatives' passion for pleasure. This was certainly one of the main reasons why the Kolarik family approached the agency. Initially, the conversation was only about redesigning the website, but it quickly became clear that there was more to a consistent brand experience. A consistent corporate design with uniform fonts, precise color definitions, language and photo style was needed. But despite all the changes, the familiar logo remains unchanged - a symbol of tradition for everyone involved.
On the new website, visitors can now embark on an exciting journey through the history of the Schweizerhaus, going back to the year 1716, and discover as yet unknown stories in the "Curiosities" section. Anyone who has visited the Schweizerhaus will know that there are plenty of them! In addition to the usual "Food & Drinks" and "Contact" sections, a new reservation tool has also been added. The popular Stelze was also re-staged in an elaborate photo shoot to make the "Schweizerhaus experience" even more tangible. The two were able to let off steam with various communication media such as beer mats, carrier bags, signs and much more.

The longing for chestnut trees
From the packaging design for Granny's and Radlberger Limö, which by the way won the Smart Packaging 2020 state prize in the "Branding" category, to the holistic brand identity for the two Figlmüller flagship stores, the Lugeck or the temporary pop-up Zwischengang - at Dvorak meets Schwab, stories are brought to life and brands are brought to life.
Overall, the re-branding gives the Schweizerhaus a fresh and contemporary look that reflects both the history and the future of the popular pub. The implementation by Martin and Florian puts a smile on our faces and we can hardly wait to drink a refreshing Krügerl under the chestnut trees again.Â
If you would like to breathe new life into your brand, the two creatives would be delighted to meetyou over a coffee.
