Call for applications for the start-up grants for Filmkunst 2025
The Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, the Civil Service and Sport is offering scholarships for up-and-coming artists in the field of film art under the title Startstipendien 2025.
The start-up grants recognize and support artists at the beginning of their professional the beginning of their professional careers and support the artistic development and the artistic development and professionalization of directors and screenwriters and facilitate their entry into the film industry and the art world.
Scholarships
The up to six scholarships to be awarded have a duration of 6 months and are endowed with endowed with EUR 9,000 each. The start-up scholarship for film art is linked to the obligatory participation in accompanying workshops and events. The projectmust be started after the submission deadline, but still in 2025. If they are awarded a grant, single parents will receive a grant increased by the amount of EUR 200 per month. Prerequisites
Eligible to participate are natural persons who have Austrian Austrian citizenship or who have lived in Austria for at least three years in Austria for at least three years (to be proven by a registration form).
Applicants must have been born after December 31, 1989. Exceptions must be explained separately and can only be considered if, for example
training has been delayed, for example, in connection with care and/or care responsibilities or for health reasons. The suspensive effect is a maximum of five years.
Persons who have already been awarded a state, scholarship (regardless of the field) or who have already been awarded another scholarship from the federal already apply for another scholarship from the federal government during this period or have already started. It is not possible to apply for two scholarships at the same time.
Projects already funded or submitted by the Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, the Civil Service and Sport Projects already funded or submitted by the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture and Civil Service cannot be considered.
Formally non-compliant applications will be returned without justification.

(2) Description of the planned film project
A film project must be described that is to be further developed during the 6-month term of the of the scholarship (max. 2 pages). Admissible are feature-length fiction or documentary films in the material development phase. Not Page 2 of 3 Bachelor's or diploma films, internships abroad are not permitted, equipment purchases or similar.
(3) Documentation of the cinematic work
Please attach a reference film (via link) as well as an overview of your own films and, if applicable film festivals, exhibitions, etc., in the context of which a film was presented. was presented.
(4) Curriculum vitae in tabular form

The scholarship holders will be selected by a jury of experts at a selection meeting probably in May. All applicants will be informed immediately informed in writing. Application documents that are not submitted on time and incomplete application documents cannot be considered. It is expressly pointed out that no reasons will be given for the jury's recommendations in the case ofproposals.
