Zimmer frei: Kathrin Fuchs listens behind the curtain
With her podcast "GOLD _ your podcast with _ VALUE", our Creative of the Month, Kathrin Fuchs, opens the doors to a world in which exclusivity and perfection are served up on a plate every day. But instead of just being dazzled by shiny surfaces, Kathrin embarks on a journey of discovery behind the scenes to get to the real heart of this industry. She listens to the stories and experiences of hotel owners, chefs and service staff to understand what it really takes to be successful in the hotel and restaurant industry.
The hotel industry is a demanding business and if there is one person who has been at home in this world for years, it is our Creative of the Month, Kathrin Fuchs. The management consultant has made it her mission to share her expertise with others. She does this by bringing selected personalities from all areas of the hotel and catering industry in front of the microphone and listening behind the curtain. Thanks to her extensive knowledge of the industry and her outstanding communication skills, an exciting opportunity has opened up for her to share her knowledge and reach like-minded people.
It all started with a wallpaper
Â
How do you start a podcast? With inspiration, and that can come from anywhere. In Kathrin Fuchs' case, it was an eye-catching wall decoration. Back in early 2023, she and a close friend and supporter came up with the idea of a podcast, the likes of which had never been seen before in Austria. During a visit to the Schmeckeria in Innsbruck, a beautiful wallpaper caught Kathrin Fuchs' eye. Her enthusiasm was so great that she asked the owner of the Schmeckeria, Georg, about the wallpaper and was even allowed to take a picture of it. To her surprise, she learned that the unique wallpaper was created by the renowned designer Christian Lacroix from Paris. Having a penchant for art and Paris herself, she was thrilled by the connection. This encounter with Georg, the owner of Schmeckeria, turned out to be a stroke of luck. Georg shared Kathrin's passion for the culinary arts and became one of her first interview partners for her podcast "GOLD _ your podcast with _ VALUE".
Kathrin on air: GOLD _ your podcast with _ VALUE
Â
Kathrin Fuchs created the podcast "GOLD _ your podcast with _VALUE" because of the many negative aspects that are spoken about the hotel and restaurant industry. She wanted to set a positive example and use the podcast medium to spread her message. Although the medium was new to her at the beginning, she has already broadcast eight episodes and has gained some much-loved experiences with her microphone and the people she has had the pleasure of interviewing.
Her podcast is aimed primarily at young people who are interested in these industries, but also at hoteliers who are looking for ways to improve, as well as guests who want to know what happens behind the scenes. In her interviews, she discusses current issues and solutions in various businesses and regions.
