EU: Collaborative Cloud for Europe's Cultural Heritage
New digital infrastructure should serve the preservation of Europe's cultural treasures and promote co-creation and collaboration between the cultural and creative sectors and the technology industry.
By 2025, the collaborative cloud will receive €110 million from Horizon Europe to create a unique infrastructure that will enable cultural heritage, curation, archiving and conservation professionals to work together in an unprecedented and comprehensive interdisciplinary way. The Cloud will provide cutting-edge technologies for the digitisation of artefacts, for the scientific study of works of art and for documentation, adding a new digital dimension to the conservation, preservation and restoration of cultural heritage. The aim is to facilitate access to advanced technologies and remove obstacles faced by smaller institutions or institutions in remote regions.
