Corona Special Call: Structural support for fashion, design, music, film, festivals, fairs, galleries and other businesses in the creative and cultural sector
Applications for up to 50,000 euros can be submitted to the BMKÖS until 19 November 2021.
Although cultural life is slowly coming back during the Corona crisis, there are still difficulties in picking up where the pre-Corona times left off and taking off, which can lead to irretrievable losses in the arts and cultural landscape. The aim of this support is to prevent this from happening and to ensure the survival of businesses, institutions and self-employed people.
Culture and the creative industries are among the sectors hardest hit by the Corona crisis. In order to maintain cultural diversity in Austria and to support cultural enterprises and self-employed persons in resuming or continuing their activities, the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Civil Service and Sport has already announced the second round of emergency structural funding. Those who are still in economic difficulties due to the pandemic and despite taking advantage of all other offers of help from the government can still submit applications until 19 November. The special funding pot is endowed with a total of 10 million euros.
Eligible applicants are self-employed persons, small and medium-sized enterprises, including associations, at least 50 percent of whose income is generated in the field of arts and culture and whose ordinary business activities are affected by significant losses of income caused by Covid-19. The eligible costs include personnel and material costs (including entrepreneurial wages!) that are necessarily and demonstrably incurred for the maintenance of the business and operations and thus for the continuation of the artistic or cultural activity.
