Starting scholarships 2026: Submit now!

Are you an artist at the start of your career? Then this is your chance: The Federal Ministry of Housing, Arts, Culture, Media and Sport is awarding the 2026 start-up grants – an important support program for young artists in Austria.

The scholarships are intended to enable you to work on new projects, advance your artistic development and facilitate your entry into the Austrian and international art scene.

What is on offer?

• Up to 90 scholarships in the fields of architecture, fine arts, performing arts, design, film, photography, literature, media art and music
• 6 months funding
• 9,000 euros per scholarship (1,500 euros per month)

Extra: Mentoring programs
In the fields of architecture, fine arts, photography and media art, you can also take part in a mentoring program in cooperation with the Academy of Fine Arts (10 places). For music, there is a mentoring program with the association MuFA – Music for All (also 10 places). Simply indicate your interest when applying.
