Aim of the competition

The aim of the competition is to highlight outstanding projects that demonstrate innovative approaches at the interface of design, craftsmanship and local production – particularly in terms of feasibility, production potential and market implementation.

What can be submitted?

Innovative consumer goods, components as well as material developments and production processes can be submitted for the Peter Bruckner Prize 2026. The innovation can relate to the design itself, the material used, the technologies employed, ecological and economic aspects (e.g. circular economy,

There are no restrictions in terms of material, technologies used or subject matter. The main evaluation criterion is the comprehensible innovative aspect of the submission. The submitted projects should be realized as products / prototypes and be available for the exhibition.

Who can submit?

Individuals, teams and companies can take part. The competition is advertised internationally.

How can I submit my application?

A PDF file (A4 landscape format with, 3-5 pages, file size max. 5 MB) named with the submitter’s surname and contact details. Content: Photos, information on material and dimensions and a brief description of the project in German or English (max. 1000 characters without spaces).

What is there to win?

There are three main prizes with up to € 3,000 in prize money to be won, as well as five recognition prizes and five honorable mentions. Further details on the prizes and evaluation criteria can be found in the announcement.
