Where business meets words: From C to the power of 3 to the first crime novel
Some encounters set things in motion – like the chance conversation between Robert Leitner and publisher Nina Altmüller at an exhibition celebrating World Book Day. A brief exchange developed into more than a professional connection: a creative collaboration that resulted in a gripping crime novel – and a powerful example of how creative networks can flourish over the years.

Sometimes the most exciting projects arise from the most unexpected encounters. This was the case with Robert Leitner, Head of the Economic Policy and Foreign Trade Department at the Upper Austrian Chamber of Commerce, and Nina Altmüller, publisher of Schriftenstand Verlag . A chance conversation at a book table on World Book Day wasn't their first encounter, however—rather, the continuation of a journey they've already shared.
Coincidences do happen... or do they?
Nina Altmüller was one of the first participants in the creative industries coaching program C hoch 3 – the forerunner of we:transform. For her, C hoch 3 was far more than professional development: It was the starting point for founding her publishing house. A place of inspiration that facilitates exchange and encourages new paths.
And Robert? Back then, he was a regional partner of C hoch 3 Creative Industries Coaching in Upper Austria – now part of a creative success story himself. The fact that this connection has resulted in a book years later is a prime example of what's possible when business and creativity collide.
Crime scene Vorderstadt
With Elferkiller , Robert Leitner now presents his first crime novel – a work that is far more than classic thriller. Combined with Nina's expertise as a publisher, the pair have achieved a real hit on the domestic book market:
The setting: the fictional town of Vorderstadt in 1989. As the Iron Curtain falls and Europe is in upheaval, a mysterious series of murders rocks the region. Three murders in three months. Court interns Ronnie Astlehner and Stefan Karoly begin their own investigation, unaware of the danger they are putting themselves in.
A program with long-term effects
Robert has taken the extra step from economic policy strategist to crime writer. Nina has taken on the role of bridge builder, working with a publishing house that makes stories like this visible. Their collaboration demonstrates how fruitful networks can be. The C hoch 3 creative industries coaching program – now we:transform – has made exactly that possible: bringing people with ideas together and giving them space to venture into new things together. And both prove that true cooperation can have an impact far beyond the project.
