What happens when a trend researcher and a graphic designer join forces? The result is a company that demonstrates the value of creative expertise for commercial success. Mama Matters is more than just a skincare brand - it's a movement for mothers who want to put themselves first again. With lovingly developed products that rely on natural ingredients - each product is a step towards more self-care in the often challenging everyday life of motherhood.

Meet the Mamas
Behind Mama Matters are Delia Wieser, innovation consultant, and Katharina Griesbacher, designer. When they became mothers themselves, they experienced how challenging it can be to really get to grips with this new role. A lot of knowledge about traditional postnatal care had been lost over the years - this is exactly where Mama Matters came in. With intelligent materials and natural products, mothers should be supported in their healing and their well-being strengthened.
Delia's experience as a trend researcher shapes product development, while Katharina creates the visual identity of Mama Matters with her focus on sustainable design. The team is complemented by agronomist Katharina Müllner, who contributes her knowledge of botanicals and natural cosmetics to product development. Together they create a line that not only cares for mothers, but also strengthens them in their new phase of life.
From the idea to the ma-brand
Mama Matters was born out of our own experiences. When a baby is born, a mother is also born - with new challenges, feelings and needs. The journey began with many ideas until the focus was found: skin care for mothers. But the mission was clear from the start: to help mothers feel good and give themselves more care.
Initially, products from other brands were curated and tested. The next step followed with a crowdfunding campaign: a postpartum clothing line with special materials and hidden messages about self-care. Two of these products are still part of the range today. They were complemented by a separate line of natural skincare products - handmade in Vienna. They also carry self-care messages on the labels. In-house production enables the company to develop its own formulas and put quality above price.
Product development tailored to mom's needs
Mama Matters is passionate about addressing the real needs of mothers who are often unsettled by external expectations. A roll-on with essential oils has been specially developed to boost mothers' self-confidence. The room and pillow spray "Treat yourself to a break" provides soothing relaxation, while the oil "Honor your body" promotes body positivity after birth. In cooperation with Wiener Städtische Versicherung, preventive packages are also being developed to help mothers on their way to recovery.
Every Mama Matters product is a true masterpiece of attention to detail. Labels made from the finest Italian paper tell their own story, and soon they will switch to direct printing to create a sustainable refill system. This dedication to quality and creativity is also reflected in special collaborations: The body oil candle, at first glance a candle, turns out to be a luxurious body oil. Every year, a limited edition is developed with a ceramic artist who embodies the essence of Mama Matters.
Creative industries as an economic driver
The creative industry is a key driver for the Mama Matters brand. This is not about traditional market analysis, but about a deep understanding of the needs of mothers. Every design, every branding, every word is deliberately chosen to create an emotional experience. Colors, materials and designs speak of warmth, appreciation and quality. Another example of this philosophy is the video and podcast series "Motherhood Unseen", which focuses on the invisible side of motherhood.
The creative view of problems, the ability to adopt new perspectives and the courage to leave conventional paths make the difference. So what happens when even more creative minds take the plunge into entrepreneurship? They make the world a bit more innovative, beautiful and sustainable - just like Mama Matters does.
